Itinerary
Simple circular route that starts from Besullo, birthplace of Alejandro Casona. A journey through ethnography and the mid-mountain landscapes of western Asturias.
Route Description
This route, officially PR.AS-168, is an immersion in the most authentic rural Asturias. Besullo (Bisuyu) is not just a pretty town; It is a place with history, famous for its ferreiros (blacksmiths) and for being the home of the playwright Alejandro Casona.
The tour is friendly and suitable for almost all audiences. It takes us away from the town to gain altitude little by little, giving us spectacular views of the Cangas and Allande valleys. The high point is the Pozo de las Montañas, a perfect natural balcony to understand the orography of this land.
We will also pass through El Pumar, an old braña that, although time has punished, still preserves the essence of the livestock life of yesteryear. The path is a mix of oak forests and scrubland areas, where the silence is only broken by the wind or a distant cowbell.
