Route Description

Picu Torres (2,104 m) is the stone sentinel that watches over the passage between Asturias and León. Its pyramidal silhouette is unmistakable from the Port of San Isidro. This route is a classic mountain climb that, without being extremely difficult, requires some experience and caution, especially in the final stretch.

The adventure begins in La Raya, the highest town in Asturias. From there, the path progressively gains height until reaching Majada del Torres, an idyllic place for a first stop.

Higher up awaits one of the best kept secrets in the area: La Ventanona. It is an impressive natural arch drilled into the limestone rock that frames the landscape like a living painting. From this hill, the views towards the Aller and Casomera valley are breathtaking.

The final stretch to the summit adds a touch of excitement with a simple but aerial climb. Once at the top, the effort is rewarded with a 360-degree panoramic view that spans from the Picos de Europa to the Ubiña massif.
